Tea Party and Cupcakes

Today was the first day of our Winter Recess and I was not sure what I was going to do with my girls today since we were waking up to a snow storm and I really did not feel like going anywhere.  So we decided to have a tea party and bake cupcakes!  We even invited my lovely neighbor to join us, and us ladies had a wonderful time.

This really was a nice way to spend an afternoon.  My girls, neighbor and I really had a nice time.  The adults had tea and my girls had hot chocolate.  I let them put on their party dresses and just enjoy!

The Bachelor and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - Monday Morning truth

 

Cry me a river!  Ok, maybe not a river.  I thought that maybe I would start a new thing called Monday morning truths.  Little tibits of truths that I may not have the guts to share with those closest to me, but I will share with you.  Fun, right?

I have these momments where I just enjoy to myself, maybe with a glass of wine or maybe while I am on the bike, but I want to be left alone and watch my self-indulgent t.v shows.  I am not a big fan of all the Bachelors and I do not watch all of the Real Housewives.  I have liked the Housewives of NY, NJ, & Beverly Hills.  However, this year or seasons have had me hooked.

Not sure if it is my new found wisdom, or that my hormones have done some sort of shift into my 40's or just motherhood but ...gulp these shows have made me cry.  I cried when Kyle talked about her daughter graduating from College, I cried when Emily on the Bachelor talked about her past.  Pretty much you mention your kids and I am crying or at least choked up.  Every once in a while my husband will walk into the room and I quickly try to gain a bit of composure.  The girl he met in our 20's would never, ever cry at these shows,nor would I have made the time to watch them.  But life changes, and so do I.

Winter Blues! Some new Springtime items.

So many of us seem to be stuck in the never ending winter, and I am ready for Springtime, big-time!  I love to garden, I love fresh flowers and the smell in the air.  I know it is only February and I have to wait a bit longer, so I decided to create somethings that I am longing for now.  I have been having lots of fun and am really excited about adding new items to my store.  I hope you enjoy!

I am so excited to be sharing some of my new logo designs created by the wonderful Scott Pope  of Scott Pope Designs.  For a very long time I have been wanting to put out a consistent logo.  Simple and elegant.  In the the past I have always stayed away from incorporating a pear in my logo, it always seemed too obvious to me.  However, I just loved how it was added here.

Many people have asked how I have came up with the name Pretty Pear Designs, so here is how.  Pretty came from mom who after the births of my daughters would always send me little gifts, she would always say just something a little pretty to help you get through the blahs of being a new mom and feeling like you were the last one to be taken care of.  Pear actually had nothing to do with fruit really. It comes from the initials of my family.  My husband is Peter, daughter Emily, I am Amy, and my youngest is Rebecca.  It was a fun play of words for us.  Designs comes from not wanting to box myself into just being cards.  I am far to antsy and want to try creating different things, so I thought Designs is a great umbrella for that.
